The act
Nathan and Alanna play weddings and parties around Townsville as an acoustic duo, electric guitar under a warm vocal. Their covers lean modern with a few older favourites folded in: Watermelon Sugar, Big Jet Plane, Valerie, Sunday Morning, Treasure, You Make My Dreams Come True. For a wedding they'll cover the pre-ceremony half hour, your aisle song, the register signing, canapes and then two 45-minute sets across entrees and dinner, plus your first dance. You can take just the ceremony, just the reception, or the lot. They bring their own PA with Bluetooth for background music between sets, and set-up takes about half an hour. Public liability insurance is in place.

Good to know
What to expect
Nathan and Alanna don't play it po-faced, but they do take the music seriously, and the balance is about right for a wedding. Electric guitar underneath, warm vocals over the top, and a repertoire wide enough to move from tender to lively without a jolt. Alanna holds a Bachelor of Music with a songwriting focus and Nathan teaches guitar across the Townsville region, so the training is real rather than decorative. What you get is a soundtrack that sits with the moment instead of fighting it.
On the day
Between 30 and 40 minutes to set up. They bring their own PA, which has Bluetooth built in so there's background music running between their live sets rather than silence. Along with that: electric guitar, microphone, stands, stools and a rug. Nothing needed from you beyond somewhere to put it all.
Set List
Modern covers with a few older ones folded through. Watermelon Sugar, Big Jet Plane, Sunday Morning, Treasure, Rehab, Electric Feel, This Town, Forget You, and You Make My Dreams from Hall and Oates going back to 1980. It suits a room where the guests span a few generations, because the newer songs pull the younger half and the older ones catch everyone else.
Performance options
Three wedding options. Ceremony and Canapes covers half an hour of live music before you walk, your chosen aisle song, songs while you sign the register and walk out married, then up to two 45 minute sets over canapes. Reception is two 45 minute sets across entrees and dinner, intro music for the speeches, something for the cake cutting and your first dance played live. Take both and you get the lot. If none of those quite fits the day you've planned, they'll build something around it, whether the wedding is small or enormous. For parties and other events, tell them what's happening and they'll quote it.
