Every shade of blues gets a run with Bluez Fever: country blues, jazz blues, rock blues, soul and funk. The Brisbane four piece features Wendy Lockyear, a Gold Coast Country Music Festival award winner, and in 2024 the band took its show to the UK, playing three London dates. Sets draw on BB King's The Thrill Is Gone, Stevie Ray Vaughan's Pride and Joy, Route 66 and Green River, with original songs added for festivals and the right venues. Shows run anywhere from 45 minutes up to three hours, sized to the occasion. They're seasoned players, all four of them, and you hear it in how tightly the rhythm section sits under the guitar and keys.

Good to know
What to expect
Tight is the word for it. Rich, sultry vocals out front, guitar work that leans on feel more than flash, and a rhythm section that stays sharp underneath while the keys fill the rest of the room. They play the great blues names and they play them properly. For festivals and the right venues, they'll fold in a few of their own songs, which have an odd eclectic streak that works better live than it sounds on paper. What keeps them at it is the sharing of it: an audience that leaves lifted, still carrying the atmosphere from the room.
On the day
Their preference is a venue with an in-house system, and a front of house engineer if you have one, especially for bigger rooms and bigger crowds. They'll send a stage plot and any other technical detail to the crew ahead of time. From you: three mic stands, monitor speakers, bass and guitar amps and a drum kit (they bring ride cymbals and sticks). Smaller rooms are easier, since they can supply their own PA, though they still need a stage or a decent clear area. Power points and extension leads matter every time. If it's outdoors, they'll need a roof over them for sun and weather.
Set List
Fifty-odd songs across every shade of blues and a fair bit of soul beside it. The core of it runs The Thrill Is Gone, My Babe, Too Tired, Sugar Sweet, Little by Little, Snatching It Back, The Blues Is My Business, Got My Mojo Working, Route 66, Evil Ways, Cold Shot, Love Me Like a Man and Hold On I'm Coming. Then the Texas end: Pride and Joy, Mary Had a Little Lamb, The House Is Rockin', Cannonball Shuffle, Dust My Blues, Stormy Monday, Let the Good Times Roll, Green River, Mustang Sally and Sweet Home Chicago. The soul and standards side brings At Last, I'd Rather Go Blind, Ain't Too Proud to Beg, Stand by Me, 634-5789, Superstition, Natural Woman, Moondance, The Look of Love, Can't Help Falling in Love, L-O-V-E, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Your Love Is King, Smooth Operator, Killing Me Softly and If I Ain't Got You. The list shifts as they add songs.
Performance options
You can have them for 45 minutes, an hour, an hour and a half, or a run of up to three. It gets built around the function, show, festival or venue rather than the other way round, and you're welcome to pick the songs yourself from what they play.
