The act
Cathrine Summers sings jazz and soul in Perth, with a voice that carries both power and a smoky softness, and a habit of talking to the room between numbers rather than staring past it. The booking options are unusually broad. There's a jazz trio, quartet or quintet for cocktail hour or dinner, running from proper standards through to jazz cabaret. There's Summers Soul, a six piece party band covering top 40, Motown, R&B and soul. Summer Groove is a four piece that reworks chart songs, so Moves Like Jagger turns up laid back and jazzy. And there's an acoustic duo of vocals and guitar for something warmer and quieter. A DJ can be added to the band for the late part of the night.
