What to expect
Christine Manetta fronts this one, and the size of the band is yours to pick. As a duo it's her voice with guitar or piano. A trio adds bass, horn or violin behind that. From four up to seven pieces the arrangements open out with drums, percussion, saxophone, violin and trumpet depending on the sound you're after. Her own background runs through urban theatre, jazz, blues, pop and soul, with festival sets at Docklands, Castlemaine, Merimbula and Port Fairy behind her. She writes too. Songs from her album One Woman One Day picked up three bronze medals at the Global Music Awards in 2023.
On the day
The band arrives with the drum kit, bass amp, keyboard amp and microphones. What they don't automatically bring is front of house sound. If your venue already has a PA with two speakers out front and two monitors on stage, that keeps the booking simpler and cheaper. If it doesn't, they can supply the system themselves. Worth confirming with your venue before you enquire.
Performance options
The show is not restricted to Melbourne. Christine Manetta and the Culture Combo will travel across Victoria for a booking, and how that works gets sorted with you when the date is being arranged, including flights and somewhere to stay if the venue is far enough out to need them.
