The act
A radio and club background stretching back to the late 80s in Melbourne, and it's an unusual one. DJC hosted Jammin, Australia's longest running urban radio show, where he gave early airplay to CDB and Israel Cruz and helped break world champion DJ J-Red. He was a Victorian DMC finalist, an old skool breaker, and the only non-US DJ to feature on Baltimore's Street Legal Radio alongside Grandmaster Flash, Kevie Kev, Grand Wizzard Theodore and Red Alert. He's also been the booking agent for The Party Boat Tours at Docklands since 2013. The sets are R&B, funk, retro, mashups, anthems, top 40, hip hop and reggae, and he'll MC. Needs an hour before doors. Public liability insured and working with children permitted.

What to expect
Two jobs in one booking. DJC works the decks and takes the microphone as MC, which is the part most rooms forget to organise until the night itself. Thirty years of it, and a big chunk of that on radio rather than in clubs, hosting the longest running urban music show in the country. That's a different skill to mixing records. You learn to talk to a room you can't see, keep it moving, and hand over cleanly. So the announcements land properly, the timing of the night holds together, and the music underneath it is R&B, funk, retro, top 40, hip hop and reggae depending on what the crowd is giving back.
Performance options
Two shapes of booking. Weddings are done as an all inclusive six hour engagement, covering the whole run of the night rather than a slice of it. Club work is booked by the hour instead, which suits a venue that just wants the room filled for a stretch. Either way you're getting the same sets, and the MC work comes with him.
