The act
Soul, folk, blues and jazz, all of it original. Elena B Williams is a known quantity on the festival circuit, and she's toured with The Waifs and worked with the likes of Pete Murray and Toni Childs. Her electric guitar playing has a slow-burning quality to it, and the songwriting is the real draw. Shows work solo or as a duo with Rachel Heaton on violin, which adds a layer that suits corporate rooms and listening crowds alike. Based in Byron Bay.

Good to know
What to expect
Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival director Colin Thomas first saw her open for The Waifs at the Capital Theatre in Bendigo, playing solo acoustic to a room of 450, and she has since become a returning name on that festival's program. That gives you a fair idea of the shape of a set: one voice, one guitar, songs she wrote herself, and a crowd that goes quiet for them. It suits a listening room more than a dance floor. Take her solo, or as a duo with violin when you want a bit more colour in the sound.
