Country and folk out of Brisbane, by way of remote Far North Queensland. Ella Hartwig has been gigging full time for a while now, and she's picked up three Queensland Music Award nominations along the way. She's played major country festivals, corporate functions, weddings and funerals, shared a stage with Guy Sebastian, and had the whole room singing back at her at the Royal George Hotel and Chattahoochee Joe's. Her set list runs long and keeps changing: Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Crowded House, The Angels, Bob Dylan, Dean Lewis. She'll learn a song for your event if you ask. Solo she works within about two square metres, needs power and flat ground, and carries public liability insurance.

What to expect
Ella grew up in a remote Far North Queensland town and moved to Brisbane about four years ago, and she's been living full time off her music for a while now. That means a lot of gigs, and a lot of learning how to work a crowd. Around Brisbane you'd have found her getting the whole of the Royal George Hotel singing along, or a packed room at Chattahoochee Joe's singing back at her. She volunteers regularly at the Queensland Children's Hospital, which is where she met and supported Guy Sebastian. She's played corporate work for the NRL, the Suncorp members' lounge, the Elite Business Leaders lunch, weddings across Queensland and funerals as well, which tells you plenty about reading a room. Solo is the simplest booking. She also works as a duo, with a fiddle player at country bars, or with a band.
On the day
Every event is different, so the honest answer is to tell her what you're picturing and work it out together. The ideal setup is access to power and flat ground, and solo she can fit inside about two square metres. Rain cover and sun protection are worth raising when you book so they're sorted rather than improvised on the day.
