Euphony

The act

Marion and Hauke, voice and acoustic guitar, nothing else in the way. Euphony dig out forgotten songs alongside the ones everybody knows, moving from 20th century jazz standards through pop, rock and soul across the 70s, 80s, 90s and now. Both have played locally and overseas. Stripped back to two people, the arrangements sound like their own rather than the record. Standard bookings run three 45 minute sets, and they take on weddings, corporate functions, funerals, parties, cruises, bars and restaurants around Melbourne. The venue needs to supply mixing desk, PA and foldback, or hire it in.

Good to know

What to expect

Two people, a voice and an acoustic guitar, and the arrangements built from there. Because they're not trying to copy the record, familiar songs come out sounding like Euphony's rather than a reproduction. Marion and Hauke will take requests and shape the set around what your event actually needs, whether that's background through dinner or something that pulls people up onto the floor later. You can hand it over and stop thinking about the music.

On the day

The venue supplies the sound: mixing desk, PA and a foldback speaker, plus lighting if the room calls for it. If your venue hasn't got that setup, it'll need to be hired in, so it's worth checking early.

Performance options

The standard booking is three 45 minute sets, and that shape covers a wedding reception, a corporate function or a private party. Bars and restaurants often go with two 45 minute sets instead, or three if the night runs long. Extra sets can be added on top. They also play wedding ceremonies and funeral ceremonies as shorter standalone bookings.
