Fifteen years of Sydney functions behind them, and a line-up that scales to the room. Book the DJ, an acoustic soloist, a duo, or three, four, five and six-piece bands, with sax, percussion and vocals available over the top of the DJ system. The night is usually built in two halves. Dinner gets jazz, R&B, soul and ambient house; the dance sets bring retro, disco and funk through to current house, taking in Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, Kool and the Gang, Kylie and Dua Lipa. Set-up gets worked out around your venue. Full public liability insurance is held.

Good to know
What to expect
Fifteen years of Sydney functions is a long apprenticeship, and it turns into a band that knows what a special event actually needs from it. The musicianship is genuinely good, and the showmanship is the part that gets people up off their chairs. The mix pulls jazz, R&B, rock and roll, disco, retro, top 40 and house, which means a room with a wide age spread gets looked after instead of one half of it sitting the night out. Expect the dance floor to fill.
On the day
There's no fixed list here. Set-up gets worked out around the venue you've chosen and the shape of your event, since a function room, a marquee and a corporate space each need something different. Send through where it's happening and what the running order looks like, and the requirements come back matched to that.
Performance options
This scales further than most bands do. At the small end it's a professional DJ or an acoustic soloist. Then a duo, or three, four, five and six piece bands as the room gets bigger. There's also a hybrid worth knowing about: the DJ sound system with live sax, percussion and vocals played over the top, which gives you the continuity of a DJ set and the energy of live players at the same time. Handy for a long night where you don't want the music stopping between sets.
