The act
Three shows, and Mark will help you work out which one your party wants. Speak Easy is a jazz duo or trio that fills the room without taking it over. The Cole Porter Songbook runs the best of Porter, De Lovely, Anything Goes, Night And Day, in Mark's own arrangements. We Prefer To Swing is an eight piece band for lindy hop and swing dancing all night. You can also mix them, a background duo early on and the full eight piece to finish. Repertoire runs well past a hundred classics, with some Postmodern Jukebox if you want it. The sound system is not an extra, it comes with the band. Melbourne based, public liability insurance held.

What to expect
Get in touch and Mark will talk you through which of the three shows fits. It comes down to the size of the room, how many people are in it, and whether you want the music sitting behind conversation or right at the front. Often the answer is both at different points of the evening. A duo playing quietly while people arrive and eat, then the full eight piece swing band for the last stretch, is a shape that works more often than not. Line-ups run anywhere from two players up to eight.
On the day
You don't need to organise sound. The band bring their own gear and set it up themselves, so there's no hiring a PA, no chasing a technician, and no line item you find out about later. Just point them at the space.
Performance options
The line-up moves between two musicians and ten, and Mark will work out with you which end of that range your party actually wants. Speak Easy is the small option, a jazz duo or trio. The Cole Porter Songbook sits in the middle. We Prefer To Swing is the eight piece, built for lindy hop and dancing. Mixing them across one night is allowed too, so a background duo early and the full band later is a normal booking. The sound system comes with whichever version you choose.
