The act
Gwyn Ashton has played 32 countries across a career spanning 45 years, in rooms ranging from restaurants and folk clubs to jazz and blues venues, theatres and Wembley Arena. The show is mostly his own music with some chosen covers mixed in, and there's as much storytelling and back and forth with the audience as there is guitar. He works solo or as a duo. He needs power, a covered stage area about five metres wide, a merch table and a room full of people who actually listen. He's a UK Musicians Union member with public liability cover.

Lots of songs. Some you’ll know, some you won’t but you’ll never forget the show!
Good to know
What to expect
Mostly Gwyn's own music, with a few covers he's picked rather than ones he feels obliged to play. But it isn't just a run of songs. He talks between them, tells stories from 45 years of touring, and gets the room talking back. That career has taken him through 32 countries and into rooms of every size, from folk clubs and restaurants up to Wembley Arena, and the show is calibrated for people who came to listen rather than people who came to dance. He works solo or as a duo.
On the day
Power, and a covered stage area around five metres wide. Somewhere to put a merch table. Plenty of fresh drinking water on hand, and a vegetarian meal if the catering can stretch to it. The other thing he asks for is a crowd that actually listens, so think about where the show sits in your running order.
