The act
Aged care homes are a room like any other, and Phillip Campagna and Ailsa Page treat them that way. Since 2018 the pair have built shows for aged care facilities and private audiences around Melbourne, Geelong, Hamilton, Penshurst, Ouyen, Mildura, Shepparton, Sea Lake and Alexandra, mixing old favourites with trivia, humour and a bit of tap dancing. Their song bank runs past 300 titles across the 20s through to the 90s, with country, Australian and rock and roll picks chosen to suit the room, plus Christmas and themed sets. Their backgrounds pull in everything from classical piano recitals to rock and roll gigs in the snowfields, and they draw on adult learning, gerontology and music therapy thinking. They've released a sing-along DVD, Singsational, with subtitles, and it has sold across Australia. Setup is small: about 1.5 metres square, power preferred but not essential.

Good to know
What to expect
Phillip and Ailsa have built a name as a duo who turn up when they say they will and deliver what they promised. That name now stretches from Greater Melbourne and Geelong out through Hamilton, Penshurst, Ouyen and Mildura, and on to Shepparton, Sea Lake and Alexandra. They've made a sing-along DVD called Singsational, subtitled and made specifically for aged care homes, which has sold right around the country. That's Life Magazine ran a feature on them too.
On the day
About a metre and a half square is all the room they take up. Power is preferred but they can manage without it, which makes them easy to place in an older building. They turn up half an hour before the music starts, and they need to be able to park close by or at least drop the gear off near the door.
Performance options
Regular work is welcome here. If you run an aged care home or a venue where a monthly or seasonal slot would suit, Phillip and Ailsa are happy to sit down and put an arrangement together rather than treat every visit as a fresh one-off booking. Say what rhythm you have in mind when you enquire and they'll work to it.
