The trio is the heart of it. Colin on drums, Paul on guitar and vocals, Mike on keys and bass, playing relaxed jazz alongside Latin, funk, soul and blues, music that can sit quietly behind dinner or get properly funky later. They can shrink to an acoustic and drums duo, or grow to five with piano, sax or trumpet added. They've played Crown Casino, the Grand Hyatt, the Arts Centre, Eureka, Ripponlea, Montsalvat, Brighton International and Transit Lounge, along with festivals and private homes. Performance runs about 45 minutes in every hour, adjusted to the shape of your night, and they'll pitch dinner music early and dance music late without being asked. They dress smartly and turn up on time, usually an hour before the start. The trio needs roughly 3.5 metres square, under cover, with power and parking access.

Good to know
What to expect
Roughly 45 minutes of playing in every hour, though the sets get cut and shaped around whatever else is happening on your night. If it's a function or a corporate do, the music changes as the evening does: quieter things while people are eating, then something you can actually move to once the plates are cleared. Crown Casino, the Grand Hyatt, Ripponlea, Montsalvat, the Arts Centre and Transit Lounge have all had them in, along with festivals and plenty of private homes. They dress properly and they turn up when they said they would, which sounds like a low bar until you've had a band that doesn't.
On the day
About 3.5 metres square is enough room for the basic trio, and under cover is the preference. If you're set on having them outside, sort out a wet weather spot beforehand so nobody's improvising on the day. They'll need to reach power, and a generator can be organised if the site has none. Parking and a clear path in matters too, since gear has to come from the car. Expect them an hour before the start time unless you've asked for something different.
Performance options
Singer-guitarist, bass and drums is the core of it. From there you can go smaller, down to a duo or a solo, or build it out to four or five with piano, sax or trumpet added on top. PA comes with them, so unless your venue already has a system you'd rather use, that side is handled.
