A veteran of the Melbourne scene since 1982, Jim Tsiambazis works solo under the name Jim Bazis, playing electric and acoustic guitar over sequenced backing tracks or going fully acoustic when the room suits it. The repertoire starts in the 50s with Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and Dean Martin, runs through the Beatles and Creedence and Sam & Dave, and keeps going to current top 40. Decades of weddings, clubs, hotels and corporate functions behind him, so nothing much surprises him now. A 2000 watt PA and lights come with every performance. He needs an hour to set up and an hour to pack down, and a covered performance area with no chance of rain getting in. Based in Sunbury. Public liability insurance.

What to expect
Jim Bazis performs three or four hours depending on the venue, broken into three or four sets of forty-five minutes. He switches between electric and acoustic guitar over sequenced backing tracks, or plays completely acoustic when the room calls for it. The repertoire starts in the 50s and runs to the latest top 40, taking in rock, jazz, pop, blues and ballads on the way. He's been working the Melbourne scene since 1982, in both original and cover bands, and he teaches as well. Rooms he's played include Crown Casino, Werribee Mansion, Flemington Racecourse, the Melbourne Arts Centre, the Melbourne Museum and the Royal Melbourne Show, so a wedding or a corporate function holds no surprises.
On the day
A 2000 watt PA and lights come with every booking, so sound is handled. What he needs from you is an hour before the performance to get everything up, and another hour afterwards to pack it down. Build both into your timings, because a rushed pack-down at the end of a night helps nobody. The performance area has to be under cover with no chance of rain reaching the gear. Undercover matters even on a clear forecast.
