Josh Romig

The act

The tender song for walking down the aisle, then something that gets the whole room singing. Josh Romig reckons that range is what wins the booking, and it comes out of folk, soul, R&B, classic rock, reggae and singer-songwriter material. A stomp box and foot tambourine add the beat when a song needs one. Ceremony suggestions include At Last, Hallelujah, Songbird and Forever You and Me, with Beatles songs all through the list. Josh brings speaker, mixer, mic and stand, plus a battery rig for ceremonies well off the grid, and reads the room as the day goes. A common booking is ceremony, canapes and two reception sets. Melbourne based, insured, holds a Working with Children Card.

Good to know

What to expect

Josh Romig sends you the full repertoire ahead of time so you can pick through it yourself. On the day, he watches the room and builds from there. A tender song for the walk down the aisle, then something later that has everyone singing along. Folk, soul, R&B, classic rock, reggae and singer-songwriter material, with a stomp box and foot tambourine adding the beat when a song needs it.

On the day

Josh brings speaker, mixer, mic and stand, so there's nothing to hire. He can also run off a battery rig, which means a ceremony well away from any power point is no problem. One thing worth sorting in advance: if the forecast is rain or serious heat, he'll need some shelter over him and the gear.

Performance options

Weddings are the bulk of it. The booking he plays most often covers the ceremony, then canapes, then two sets at the reception, with a DJ often taking the rest of the night. Ceremony song suggestions include At Last, Hallelujah, Songbird and Forever You and Me, and there are Beatles songs right through the list. The shape gets worked out around your run sheet.
