Fifties, sixties and seventies songs, played in what this Byron Bay duo call their Nouveau Retro style. Both are multi-instrumentalists, both sing lead, and the harmonies are the point. The choices are the interesting part: alongside Brown Eyed Girl and California Dreamin' you'll get Accentuate the Positive, Brand New Key, Big River and the odd Smothers Brothers oddity, so the set covers gentle ballads, quirky singalongs and proper groove dance numbers. They read a room and shift accordingly, from background music to full audience engagement. They'll use your PA or bring their own, including a mic for your speakers, and can run on battery power for remote spots. About an hour to set up. MC work, parody and comedy songs written to order, and DJ music between sets are all on the table.

On the day
Give them roughly an hour before the start to get set up, and about 40 minutes at the end to pack down. If your venue has a PA, they'll use it. If it hasn't, they'll bring their own, and when they do they can put a microphone aside for anyone giving a speech. Mains power covers the normal situation. For a remote spot with nothing to plug into, tell them in advance and they'll bring a battery powered system instead.
Performance options
They'll talk it through with you and put the pieces together to suit the day, and the list of pieces is longer than most duos offer. Live music is the centre of it. Around that they can supply the PA, run recorded music through the breaks, learn a song you've asked for, and handle MC duties for the whole event. The unusual one is written-to-order material: parody and comedy songs are a specialty, so a song about the couple or the retiring boss is genuinely on the table.
