If nobody's requesting anything, he works out what will keep people eating or dancing and plays that. With Poco Loco, his duo and trio, he spent six years working the casinos in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, plus a long run of corporate events and weddings. Sets get built around your brief: cocktail and easy listening while people eat, then progressively more up-tempo until the floor fills. They don't use set lists much, preferring to change on the fly. Requests can be learnt before the day. The band needs cover from rain and sun, reliable power, parking and an hour's access before the start.

It's less a set list than a plan for how the room should feel at each point in the evening.
They need to be under cover, out of both rain and direct sun. A reliable power source, somewhere for the band to park, and access to the space at least an hour before they're due to start. A meal and something to drink is always appreciated, though it's not a condition of anything.
