Classical training on a nylon string guitar is not the usual background for a function musician, and it shows. Mark Henderson plays hatted restaurants around Newcastle and the Hunter, including Sails at Lavender Bay on Sydney Harbour, Bistro Molines and Yellow Billy at Pokolbin, and Margan at Broke. He switches to a Fender Strat when a set needs lifting, and uses backing tracks sparingly, depending on the room. Expect Fields of Gold, Careless Whisper, Little Wing, Moondance, Under the Milky Way, Rocket Man and Time After Time, plus originals written under the name Jimmy Moonunit. He's worked from Newcastle to Noosa and overseas, at weddings, corporate events and bars. He brings his own PA. Just power, a small table and a stool.

Good to know
What to expect
Mostly acoustic, pitched to the occasion rather than to a fixed set. Mark plays nylon string with classical training behind it, which is not what you usually get at a function, and backing tracks appear now and then when a song needs them. He's played restaurants and bars through Newcastle and the Hunter, up to Noosa, and overseas, along with corporate events and weddings. So he knows the difference between a room that wants to talk over the music and one that wants to listen.
On the day
Short list. A power point, a small table and a stool. He owns the PA and brings it with him, so there's no gear to organise at your end. Just make sure the spot you have in mind has somewhere to plug in.
