The act
Bollywood film songs, ghazals, bhajans and semi classical pieces, sung with the sort of care those forms actually ask for. Medha performs around Brisbane, drawing on raag-based classics, romantic Hindi film songs, ghazals in the tradition of Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali, and devotional pieces for spiritual gatherings. For smaller gatherings the set can become a mehfil, a close listening room where the emotion of the song is the whole event. This is Indian music, specialised and deliberate, not a western covers set. Medha also founded a classical music learning space running workshops, group riyaaz and listening sessions. Requests can be discussed ahead of time. A power point, a dry two by two metre space and half an hour to sound check covers the setup.

Good to know
What to expect
Indian music, sung properly, and shaped to whatever the evening is meant to be. Medha's sets move between Bollywood film songs, ghazals, bhajans and semi classical pieces, and the mood shifts with the room. Some nights it stays reflective and nostalgic. Others it lifts, or turns into something closer to a conversation with the guests. Smaller gatherings can be run as a mehfil, where people sit close and listen rather than talk over the top. Worth knowing up front: this isn't a western pop or rock set and never pretends to be. If there's a particular song that matters to you, raise it early so there's time to prepare it.
On the day
For a small private event Medha brings her own basic rig: vocal mic, speaker, laptop for backing tracks, and guitar where the songs call for it. What she needs from you is a standard power point near where she's singing, a clean dry patch of about two metres square, and a small table or something steady for the laptop. Outdoors, the gear has to be under cover, since rain and damp will end the night quickly. Thirty to forty five minutes of access before she starts covers setup and a sound check. Bigger venues with their own PA are fine too, she'll plug into it.
Performance options
The shortest booking is a solo vocal set of thirty to forty minutes, which suits a dinner setting, a spiritual evening or a small celebration. Step up to forty five to sixty minutes and there's room for a fuller arc through the material, nostalgic Hindi film songs into ghazals, devotional pieces or semi classical work, with a bit of storytelling or gentle interaction where it fits. The longest option runs seventy five to ninety minutes and gets built around one idea: a devotional evening, a ghazal led set, a Bollywood and semi classical mix, or a proper mehfil. Every set is built for the specific event, and requests can be worked in with enough notice.
