The act
Soul, country and pop in one voice, shaped by Amy Winehouse, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ed Sheeran, Adele and Hozier, with John Mayer, Bill Withers, Amy Shark and Bruno Mars in the mix too. Meg Ripps has played the Brisbane Festival, the Australian Army, the Brisbane Lions and a Mercedes Benz fashion show, and as a songwriter she's supported Rick Price, James Blundell and Daddy Cool. Solo, she uses guitar percussion and looping to build the songs up in layers. She'll also front a band with a mic in hand, or work as a duo. Some nights she'll sit back and serenade. Others she's off the stage and in the crowd. She brings her own PA.

What to expect
Meg's a warm presence on stage and she'll read which way a night wants to go. Sometimes that means sitting back and just singing to the room. Other times she's up and moving, talking to people, pulling the crowd into it. Solo, she uses guitar percussion and looping to stack the parts up live, so a single player fills out more than you'd expect. And if the booking calls for a band behind her, she'll put the guitar down and work the front of stage with a mic instead. What you get depends a lot on what you tell her you're after.
On the day
Meg brings her own PA, so the sound side is handled. All she asks is that you check two things before the day: where the power is at your venue, and exactly where you want her set up. Those two answers save a lot of mucking about on arrival.
Performance options
Solo is Meg on vocals and guitar with the live looping show. There are two ways to do a duo: her solo act plus a male singer and guitarist, or Meg out front with a mic in hand alongside a guitarist or keys player. The band version puts her on vocals with guitarist, bassist, keys and drums behind her. Tell her the size of the room and the kind of night and she'll suggest which one fits.
