The act
Cello, and everything a cello can be asked to do. Melbourne Cello Co puts players into weddings, corporate events and smaller gatherings, drawing on a repertoire that runs from classical repertoire through to contemporary arrangements. Electric cello is on the table if you want something with more edge than a string quartet. Beyond solo cello, the roster covers classical duos and trios, string quartets, ensembles and funeral music. Players bring their own gear and arrive early enough to set up properly, usually up to an hour before you need them. Space and power needs shift with the size of the group, so that gets worked out once you know what you're after.

Good to know
What to expect
You tell them the event and they find the cellist for it, which takes the guesswork out of a job most people only do once. The players are professionals who turn up prepared, and they get in with time to spare rather than arriving as your guests do. They bring their own instruments and equipment, so nothing needs hiring in. Big event or a small one, the approach doesn't change much. And if you're not sure whether you want a solo cello or something larger, that's a conversation worth having early.
On the day
No fixed list here, because the answer depends on what you book. A solo cellist and a full ensemble need different amounts of floor space and different power access, so the requirements get settled once the line-up is. Their team will walk you through what your artist needs for your particular venue.
Performance options
Weddings and events both, and the format is yours to choose. A solo cellist at the quiet end, then classical duos and trios, string quartets and larger ensembles as you go up. Funeral music is covered as well. Electric cello is an option if you want a harder edge than a traditional string group gives you, and the repertoire spans classical through to contemporary arrangements.
