The act
Eight pieces of swing jazz: Monica out front, backed by piano, double bass, drums and a four-piece horn section. The band came up in the early 90s with sharp arrangements and some of the best young jazz players in the country, and released two well-received albums in that period, Too Darn Hot and Cotton on the Breeze. Both showed off Monica's range and the band's grip on the beat. They're still at it. The blend is 40s and 50s swing with a bit of Latin worked through, and it suits a bigger gathering of 100 or more. Just make sure there's a dance floor.
