OverDrive chase one particular sound: the overdriven guitar tone of the late sixties and seventies. Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Cream and ZZ Top form the backbone, with a few later ones snuck in from The Living End, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam. The set list runs through Black Night, Sunshine of Your Love, La Grange, The Ocean, Highway to Hell, Interstate Love Song, Sweet Home Alabama and plenty more, and they'll add the host's favourites or a slow blues if that's where the room is headed. The Adelaide line-up is vocalist and guitarist Nick Lenthall, lead guitarist Stephen Tovey, bassist Rob Dello and drummer Neil Williams. Simple set up, and they turn up on time.

Good to know
What to expect
They show up when they said they would and they treat the venue staff properly, which sounds like the bare minimum until you have booked a band that does neither. On stage the four of them keep their heads up and their eyes on the room, and the energy stays high right through. Expect a loud, warm-toned rock set played by people who look like they are enjoying it. Good manners off stage, plenty of push on it.
Performance options
There's a core set of songs the band always carries, and it gets extended for your event. Host's favourites can go in, party tracks too, and if the room is up for a slow blues they'll play one. Ask for a particular song when you enquire and it gets considered for the night's list.
