Improvisation is where this Perth pianist and composer lives. He started learning jazz piano in 2007, went on to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2008 and graduated in 2011, and has shared a stage with local jazz players including Katie Noonan. His playing leans delicate and expressive, all texture and ambience around the melody of a standard rather than a hard swing. That makes him easy to place. Dinner service, a wedding, a corporate function, or a set where he's the reason people are in the room.
