The act
Pete Moody covers a whole wedding day on his own. Acoustic guitar and vocals for the ceremony, DJ and MC for the reception, and live Dhol percussion out on the dance floor if the night calls for a fusion set. There's karaoke too. The MC side is the part people underrate: he runs the run sheet, talks to the venue and makes sure the speeches are actually heard. Sets range from smooth jazz through classic pop and rock, and for over-50s resorts he builds nostalgia sets from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Happy to learn a first dance song. Based at Logan Reserve in Queensland, with his own PA and dance floor lighting, arriving 60 to 90 minutes early to sound check. Holds a Queensland Blue Card and is a registered NDIS provider.

Good to know
What to expect
The MC part is what people underestimate. Pete runs your run sheet, talks to the venue, and makes sure the speeches carry to the back of the room instead of dissolving into a bad microphone. Around that sits the music: acoustic guitar and vocals through a ceremony, then a DJ set for the reception, and the changeover between them is clean rather than a ten minute silence while gear gets moved. Live Dhol percussion can come out onto the floor if the night wants a fusion set. Sound quality gets treated as the point, not an afterthought.
On the day
A complete PA and dance floor lighting come with every booking. The rig is compact for what it does, and all it asks of your venue is one standard 240V outlet within about 10 metres of where he'll be performing. Outdoors, he needs a level surface with cover over it, because the audio gear can't take weather. Pete gets there 60 to 90 minutes ahead of the start so the sound check happens properly and well before your guests are in the room.
Performance options
The full wedding option runs eight hours: live acoustic music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, then DJ and MC through the reception. If you only need the reception covered, the DJ and MC package sits at four to five hours with custom playlists, lighting, hosting and optional live Dhol. The live solo session is two to three hours of vocals and guitar, which suits a private party, a corporate night or a venue slot. There's also a hosted karaoke party with a big digital library and app requests, and Dhol can be added on to any booking as a feature during the peak part of the night.
