Prof. Lisa Harvey-Smith is an astrophysicist who has hosted the Prime Minister's Prizes for Science, delivered a National Press Club address, given a TEDx talk, and shared a stage with Apollo astronauts including Buzz Aldrin on live tours. She was a presenter on the ABC series Stargazing Live, and she's written award-winning books for both adults and children. Her subjects are space and astronomy, science and technology, STEM education and gender equity, and she can take a general audience along without dumbing any of it down. As an MC she's respectful, culturally competent, well informed and genuinely funny, which is a rarer combination on the conference circuit than it should be.
