The act
Fifteen years of gigs across South Australia and Victoria, and Quentin Ashfield covers a lot of ground on his own: guitar, vocals, and a DJ set when the night needs one. Weddings, corporate functions, engagements, festivals, pubs, fundraisers. He brings his own sound and lighting. The song list is deliberately familiar, running from the 60s through to current hits, which is the point at a party where nobody wants to guess what's playing. Wedding work can be a ceremony only, ceremony plus pre-reception, or the whole day end to end. Adelaide based, and used to travelling for it.

Good to know
What to expect
Songs everybody in the room already knows, which is not the same as songs everybody likes, but it's what actually gets people singing at a party. He brings his own sound and lighting, so the corner he's playing from looks like it's meant to be there instead of a bloke with a guitar in front of a fire exit. Solo guitar and vocals for the live part, and a DJ set when the night wants one. Fifteen years of pubs, weddings and corporate rooms behind it, which mostly means he knows when to turn it up and when to leave people alone to talk.
On the day
Time to get in and set up is the main thing to plan for. A small venue needs about half an hour before he plays. A larger one wants a full hour. And for a wedding, allow two hours, because there's more to position and more that has to be right before anyone walks in. Build that into your run sheet and let the venue know when he can access the space.
Performance options
Standard event bookings run from two hours out to five or more, which covers most corporate nights, birthdays and pub gigs. Weddings are split up so you only pay for the parts you need. There's ceremony only, ceremony and pre reception together, pre reception and reception, reception on its own, or the whole day from the first guest arriving to the last song. Which one suits usually comes down to whether you've got a second act covering the other half of the day.
