Rach takes over guitar, Will moves to bass and Lachy brings drums for a trio. Or Rach on vocals and guitar with Lachy on sax, which is a lovely thing for a ceremony. Two singers, both on guitar, with a stomp box keeping time underneath. That's the duo, and it's built to get people up rather than sit politely in the background. Male and female voices means the song choice can swing a long way across the night, and there are hundreds of songs in the book. A standard booking is three sets of 45 minutes. Ask for a fourth and you'll get it. If you want a bigger sound, Rach moves to guitar, Will picks up bass and Lachy brings the drums along. There's a quieter option too: Rach singing and playing with Lachy on saxophone.
On the day
They carry their own PA, and there's a size for every room. A small rig covers a cafe or a house party. For a full band sound in a bigger room, subwoofers come along too. All they ask for is somewhere to plug in. And if you've picked a spot with a view and no power, that's fine as well, because a battery amp lives in the van for exactly that.
Performance options
Four line-ups. The duo is Rach and Will on vocals and guitar. Add Lachy on drums or saxophone and it becomes a trio. The full band brings bass and drums in behind them. And there's a fourth shape, Rach on vocals and acoustic guitar with Lachy on sax, which sits nicely under a ceremony or a long lunch.
