What to expect
Classic and modern jazz, played by three people who've clearly done this a while. Tony's on keys, running full live backing underneath, which fills the room out like a four piece rather than a keyboard on its own. Debbie sings and her range covers more ground than you'd expect. Luke handles guitar and rhythm box. Between them they'll also pull out popular hits from across the decades if the night wants that instead of straight jazz. And if a trio is too much for the space, the same act works as a duo.
On the day
Sound and PA come with the trio. The venue supplies nothing on that front, which also means the rig is one they know rather than whatever happens to be bolted to the wall. Tony's keyboard carries the full live backing through it, so what fills the room is closer to a four piece than three people and a couple of speakers.
