The act
Born in Spain and immersed in music from an early age, Rodrigo Santiago took up guitar after hearing some of the instrument's great players. He finished a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at the Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane in 2016 and has spent the past decade working the local scene, playing residencies, festivals, private functions and government and community events, plus work nationally and overseas. The material spans jazz standards, Brazilian bossa nova, flamenco, boleros, samba, salsa, Cuban music and gypsy jazz, and he'll learn a specific song for an occasion. Bookable solo or expanded to a duo, trio, quartet or larger with trumpet, violin, double bass, saxophone, piano or vocals. PA, lighting and battery powered gear available.

What to expect
Rodrigo Santiago was born in Spain and grew up surrounded by music, taking up guitar after hearing some of the instrument's great players. He finished a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at the Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane in 2016 and has spent the decade since working the Brisbane scene through residencies, festivals, private functions, and government and community events. He has self produced four albums and worked on collaborative studio projects with the Jazz Music Institute, JMC Academy, Queensland Conservatorium and Sound Audio Engineering. Performing has taken him to Japan, India, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Thailand and Colombia, and the playing blends gypsy jazz, flamenco and Latin music.
On the day
A full PA system and lighting can come with him if the venue has neither. Battery powered equipment is available as well, which opens up gardens, lawns and other spots with no power nearby.
