The act
Ten musicians, four vocalists, a horn section, and a shared love of what came out of Michigan in the late 60s. The 8-Tracks debuted at Eggfest in 2016, sold out their first headline show, and have been playing Motown and soul at weddings, fundraisers and events across South East Queensland ever since. A rotating roster of Queensland soul singers fronts the band, backed by sax, keys, guitar, bass, percussion and drums. They can run up to four hours of it. Classic hits, vintage flair, and a dance floor that fills early. Support act, PA, lighting and even MCs can be supplied if you need the whole night covered. A stage plot is available on request. Insured.

Good to know
What to expect
Motown and soul, played by ten people, with a horn section doing the lifting. The 8-Tracks can run up to four hours of it, which covers a whole evening without repeating itself. Four vocalists front the band, drawn from a rotating group of Queensland soul singers, and the material comes from what was coming out of Michigan in the late 60s. Dance floors tend to fill early with this stuff. That's the nature of the songs more than any trick the band pulls.
On the day
Ten musicians need real room. The line-up is four vocalists plus sax, keys, electric guitar, electric bass, percussion and drums, so the stage or performance area has to hold all of them with instruments and monitors. Ask for the stage plot before you commit to a space. They'll send it through, and it saves an awkward conversation on the day about where the horn players are meant to stand.
Performance options
The ten-piece band is the core booking, and around it they can cover the rest of the night if you'd rather not chase separate suppliers. A support act to open, PA and lighting, and MCs to run the room between the music are all things they can bring. Useful if your venue is bare and you want one act carrying the whole evening rather than three.
