The act
Ten years in, The Cast have worked out what most bands never do: the size of the band should follow the size of the night. Chloe Castledine fronts it, and around her the lineup stretches from an acoustic duo through a five piece club-pop setup to a full fourteen-piece party band, with background jazz, dancers or aerialists dropped in if the event wants them. Everything is played live. No sequencing, no backing tracks running underneath. That matters more than it sounds, because a live band can follow a room when it lifts or dips. Adelaide based, and no two of their events look the same.
