The Harolds are a five-piece from Melbourne's east playing classic rock from the 60s, 70s, 80s and onwards, and they'll occasionally pull someone up from the crowd. The list is deep and familiar: April Sun in Cuba, Eagle Rock, Ticket to Ride, Stand By Me, Footloose, Billie Jean, What's My Scene, Valerie and plenty more. Weddings and milestone birthdays are where they do their best work, and a full MC service is there if you need someone to hold the running order together. They need a dry, safe space with room for five musicians, a drum kit and enough power.

Three sets, twelve songs in each. Between them the room stays filled with music rather than the hum of a hundred conversations getting louder, because the band supplies the between-set playlist too. The PA is theirs, foldbacks included, and so is the stage lighting and the effects that come with it. Five players, classic rock across the 60s, 70s and 80s, and every so often somebody from the crowd gets pulled up. It's a full production arriving in a van, which is worth knowing if your venue has no sound system of its own.
On the day
Five musicians and a full drum kit take up more floor than people expect, so the band needs a genuine performance area rather than a corner. It has to be dry and clear of doorways, both for the gear and so guests aren't squeezing past a cymbal stand all night. Power matters too: enough outlets to run a PA, lighting and backline without tripping the circuit. Worth checking with your venue early, since it's the thing most likely to catch you out on the day.
Performance options
Weddings and the big round-number birthdays are where The Harolds do their best work, and the standard booking is the three sets with sound, lights and between-set music included. If you'd rather not hand a friend the microphone, they'll take on the full MC job as well: announcements, introductions, keeping the speeches and the cake and the first dance in the right order. Worth asking about when you enquire, because it saves finding someone separately.
