They're an 11 piece band from WA, led by Mia Matthiessen, drawing on the 1960s stretch where gospel, rhythm and blues and jazz fed into classic soul and Motown. For your reception, that means a full wall of sound with vocals, rhythm and those howling horns pushing songs from that era into proper get up and dance territory. If your room is smaller, there's also a 7 piece version with sax and trumpet; if you want more scale, the 15 piece Soulphonic line-up adds strings. At the centre of it is still Western Australia's spectacular 11 piece soul band.
