The Stringbirds play unplugged versions of songs you know, which makes them a sensible fit for a house party, a garden do or a winery lunch where a full band would flatten the conversation. The songbook is wide: Layla, Landslide, Fast Car, Blackbird, Free Fallin', Nothing Else Matters, Shallow, To Her Door. They'll do two one hour sets or three of 40 minutes, with recorded music through their own PA during the breaks. During those breaks the room doesn't go quiet: The Stringbirds put background music through their own PA so there's something under the conversation until they're back on. They need an hour before they start to set up and get the sound right, so build that into the timings when you're planning the day.
Outdoors, they need a covered area. Power for the sound system, lighting so they can see what they're playing, and somewhere safe to leave gear if the space is public. Vehicle access matters at both ends, dropping off and picking up, so flag any long carry or awkward laneway early. Last one, and it's easy to forget: five basic chairs with no arms. Arms get in the way of playing an instrument sitting down.
Size is flexible. You can have the duo, the trio or the full band, depending on what the room needs and who's free on your date. Residencies and repeat bookings are treated differently to a one off, so mention it if you're looking at more than a single night. Worth saying what the space is and how many people you're expecting, because that usually decides which version of The Stringbirds makes sense.
