The Sugarfoot Ramblers came out of a New Orleans trip. Trumpeter Travis Woods and drummer Daniel Berry went, came home, and put together a band to dig into the classic traditional jazz book. They're joined by James Macaulay on trombone, Jon Hunt on clarinet, Matt Hayes on banjo and Jono Brown on bass, all contemporary jazz players by training who simply love the older music more. Travis names Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Sidney Bechet and Louis Armstrong as touchstones, alongside two local heroes, The Red Onions and The Hoodangers. They gig regularly around town and have played the Wangaratta, Stonnington and Bellingen jazz festivals, plus Bennett's Lane, The Paris Cat and Uptown Jazz Cafe. Instrumental or with vocals, your call.
Watch The Sugarfoot Ramblers perform and get a feel for their sound, style and fit for your wedding.
