The act
Three people on stage, and the sound is built to feel bigger than that, with acoustic guitar, double bass, drums and all three voices in the mix. The Wesleys started as a side project from members of Murphy's Lore and kept going well past what was meant to be a one-off show. What stands out is the way they treat familiar songs: an acoustic set with plenty of vocals, plus left-field choices like The Cure and The Human League done stripped back. For a wedding, that points neatly to canapes, dinner or a relaxed dance floor where you want recognisable songs without a full rock-band feel.
