Tim reads which way a room is drifting and moves with it, dinner volume one minute, dance floor the next. His book runs to 538 songs, so requests from the floor are welcome, and they get answered: Elvis, Neil Diamond, the Beatles, Creedence, Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, Cold Chisel, Crowded House and Paul Kelly on one side, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Bernard Fanning, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and Keith Urban on the other. You also talk to him directly rather than through anyone else, which keeps the planning short. Solo, duo or band, sized to your venue and your headcount.
On the day
A space of roughly three metres by two does a solo booking. Duo or band needs more than that. Full production comes with him, PA and lighting both, so the venue isn't being asked to supply anything technical. He'll also take the microphone as MC and introduce your speakers if that saves you finding someone else to do it.
Performance options
Solo, duo, trio or the full band, and which one suits comes down to your guest numbers and the size of the room. The duo works several ways: two guitars, or Tim with a drummer, a keyboard player or a violinist. Full wedding bookings are common, running solo through the ceremony then stepping up to a duo or band for the reception, with MC duties and DJ sets covering the gaps between live music. You're dealing with the singer himself the whole way through, not a middle layer.
