The act
A big vocal range is the thing people notice first about Tony Boyd, and he uses it both ways: a ballad for a ceremony, then something loud enough to fill a dance floor by the end of the reception. He works the Sunshine Coast as a solo act, a duo or a full band, with DJ and karaoke options if the night needs them, and every musician he brings along is a working professional. The repertoire covers the 60s through to current chart songs, with plenty of Aussie rock in the middle, plus a retro acoustic tribute set called Retrocoustic. He'll plan the running order around your schedule rather than his own. His gear is tested and tagged and he holds public liability insurance.

Good to know
What to expect
Tony Boyd's vocal range is what you're really booking, and he uses both ends of it across a wedding day. A heartfelt ballad during the ceremony, then party songs loud enough to fill a dance floor by the end of the reception. He'll talk through what you're picturing beforehand and schedule the music around your plans rather than his own running order. The musicians he brings know wedding work: how to dress, how to deal with venue staff, guests and the bridal party, and how to stay flexible when the timings move on the day. They always do.
On the day
Before anything gets loaded in, Tony needs a picture of the venue: how big it is, how many guests are coming, and how much room there is to set up, so the right sound system and lighting turn up. Flag anything unusual early too. Load-in details, portable power, in-house production and stage plots all want sorting in advance rather than on the day. Outdoors, the gear doesn't go up without shelter if there's any chance of rain, and shade is needed if it's going to sit in hot sun for hours.
Performance options
The line-up scales from acoustic solo through duo and trio to a full band, with DJ sets and karaoke available when the night calls for them. There's a retro rock tribute that runs as a solo or a duo. Trivia can be added. As for occasions, he covers wedding ceremonies, canapes and receptions, corporate events, private functions and regular venue entertainment.
