Nathan and Michelle build their sets around originals, roughly seven songs in ten, and it shows in the writing. Two Tears in a Bucket work in blues and roots, taking old Piedmont and Delta picking styles and running them through punk, funk and rock grooves. The covers that fill the rest come from blues standards, old cabaret numbers and bluegrass. As a duo they lean on a stomp box for the low end, and they'll expand to three pieces with drums, or four with bass added. They've played major venues and festivals around the country and shared bills with Mason Rack, Z Star Trinity, Salt n Steel and Lecia Louise. What to expect

Nathan and Michelle sing it, and the lyric writing carries a lot of weight. The covers that fill out the rest are a mixed bag: blues standards, old cabaret numbers, some country bluegrass. As a duo they use a stomp box to keep the low end moving. Add drums and it's a three piece. Add bass on top and it's four.
On the day
Their own PA covers small to medium rooms. Two power points is what they'd prefer, though one will do at a pinch. They bring their own carpet, which sounds trivial until you've watched a stomp box slide across a polished floor. Two metres squared is about the smallest area the duo can work in.
Performance options
Sets run 45 to 55 minutes, and you can book either two or three of them. The duo is the standard shape, with a PA supplied, though if your venue already has a system they can play through that instead. Add drums for a three piece, again with or without their own PA. The four piece brings bass in as well and comes with the PA. Pick the format first and the set count second.
