The act
Ty Gray works Darwin as a comedian, host and MC, and the three jobs are genuinely different. As a comic he writes original material on travel, school, careers, relationships, partying and family. As an MC he runs the night, lifts the energy between items and hands over to keynote speakers or a raffle without the room going flat. And as a trivia host he builds the quiz from scratch, with questions about your own staff and whatever topics you pick. He can bring a microphone and PA. Comedy needs decent lighting, and trivia is easier with a screen or projector, though he'll work around it if the venue hasn't got one.

Good to know
What to expect
Three separate jobs, and Ty Gray does all of them. The comedy is original material about travel, school, careers, relationships, partying and family, written rather than borrowed. As an MC he steers the night through its running order, lifts the energy between items and hands over cleanly to a keynote speaker or a raffle. And the trivia is built from scratch in consultation with whoever is organising, with questions about your own staff and on whatever topics you nominate. Which of the three you get depends entirely on what you're planning.
On the day
For comedy, lighting is the thing that gets overlooked. A comic needs the room to actually see him, so decent lighting matters more than any other piece of kit. He can bring a microphone and PA himself. For trivia, a projector or television screen makes the audio-visual rounds possible, though he'll work around it if the venue hasn't got one.
Performance options
Three formats. The line-up show brings four other comedians in to perform while Ty hosts, running one to two hours, which suits a pub night, a corporate social or a birthday for the right person. The tailor-made trivia night is a two hour build, put together with your event organiser for a sporting club, social club or workplace, with audio-visual rounds if the venue can handle them. And there's an hour-long comedy show drawn from teacher-related material he's toured to festivals for over three years, covering life in the classroom and out of it.
