The act
Five Sydney musicians from the northern beaches, playing rock and roll hits stretching back to the 1950s and forward to whatever's on the radio now. Two guitars, bass, drums and vocals is the standard line up, and a full night usually means three 45 minute sets. The rest is crowd work: Sweet Caroline, Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Highway to Hell, Get Back, You Really Got Me, Bad Moon Rising. Grandparents and grandkids tend to know the same chorus, which is the point. They work festivals, clubs, pubs, breweries and private events, and can bring the whole rig, PA through to lighting. Extra players are available too, including mandolin, lap steel and dobro.

What to expect
Five Sydney musicians, two guitars, bass, drums and vocals, working through rock and roll hits that stretch from the 1950s right up to the present. The set list moves about, deliberately, so that the older guests and the younger ones both keep finding songs they know. A full night comes to about four hours, usually broken into three sets. Getting the crowd involved matters more to them than getting through a fixed running order, and the name is meant literally: the shows are built to lift a room.
On the day
They can hand over the lot if you'd rather not chase suppliers: PA, mixer, microphones and stands, foldback monitors and lighting. Depending on the venue and what you're after, extra players can join them too, studio musicians on mandolin, lap steel or dobro, along with percussionists, guest performers and support bands.
